Welcome to the North Cornwall Cluster website

The North Cornwall Cluster includes the six churches of St Endellion, St Enodoc, St James the Great at St Kew, St Michael's at Porthilly, St Minver and St Peter's in Port Isaac. These are historic and beautiful churches in one of the most beautiful and sought after parts of Cornwall, and many visitors sense that in entering them - coming in off the beach or golf course, or having stopped at a local inn or just paused for a moment’s peace on holiday – that they have chanced upon holy ground. And we are not only 'churches’ but People! We are blessed by the clergy, Readers, Churchwardens and others who are here.

We love being here, and we hope that whether you live here, or are with us for a short while on holiday, you will enrich our worship and our sense of holy and loving community by joining us. You would be very welcome, just as you are, and equally welcome if you are one of those who prefers to be in church when noone else is there! In one sense we are like a thousand other quiet country churches, but we have a passion in our lives to seek after God and even to know him, to explore the meaning of faith today, and to be of use to our fellow men, women and children as companions on a journey.

Our churches share a special sense of mission through the Arts & Spirituality. It is not only that God is Beauty, and that through the Arts we can find glimpses of transcendence, but we also believe that the Arts can be a source of healing, a means of sharing and deepening our faith and indeed of celebrating our stories with each other.

Please contact us if you think we may be able to help you in any way, or if you require information regarding baptisms, weddings or funerals at any of our churches. We also have two groups of Lay Pastoral Ministers whose vocation is to share the pastoral ministry with the clergy.

News & Events

God bless Florence Rose Endellion Cameron!

I was at the as usual brilliant church fete at St Minver yesterday when someone came to me through the driving rain and said: “Have you heard the Cameron news!”  It’s amazing news for us at St Endellion and Congratulations to Samantha and David!  David came as godfather to a friend’s child who was baptized at St Endellion some years ago and perhaps he was struck, as so many are, by the spiritual power of this ancient holy place.

People who never attend church elsewhere regard St Endellion as their spiritual home, and members of the internationally famous St Endellion Music Festivals are drawn back again and again to sacred space and a sense of who they are and why they are musicians.  Those of us who live locally, who find peace and re-creation in several of our extraordinary local churches, know that St Endellion is one of those places where the veil between heaven and earth grows sometimes very thin.

May God bless this child always!

Fr John
