Healing Service

The monthly cluster healing service is held at 7.30pm on the first Wednesday of the month within an informal eucharist and includes intercession for the sick and the laying on of hands for those who wish to receive it, either for themselves or for those for whom they are praying.

Taize Services

Held each month at St Endellion at 6pm on the second Sunday the candlelit Taize service gives an opportunity for peaceful reflection. It includes readings, a short meditation, silence, prayers, Taize chants and refreshments.

Julian Meetings

The Julian meeting is held at 8pm on the last Thursday of the month. It takes the form of two short readings by spiritual writers with periods of 15–20 minutes silence for meditation between them, and ends with the saying of Compline.

Bible Study

A group from across the cluster meet weekly on a Thursday at 11am for an hour to study the Lectionary readings for the following Sunday.  We meet in different homes and people take their turn in facilitating discussion.

Anyone is welcome to come along and to share their thoughts; no special expertise is required only an enquiring mind. We learn from each other.

Contact any of the clergy or readers if you are interested in attending.

Local Pastoral Ministers

The Diocese of Truro has a training officer who offers a six-session course for lay people prior to commissioning as Local Pastoral Ministers in their parishes.  The course aims to help potential Local Pastoral Ministers develop and nurture their skills and confidence and harness their gifts and experience for exercising a pastoral ministry in their church and parish.  It also helps collectively to develop the pastoral ministry team as a dynamic and effective group within the church and parish community.

We have two teams of commissioned `LPMs’ in our cluster of churches:
One team seeks to pray for people and visit them in St Kew, Port Isaac and St Endellion.  The Reverend Judith Pollinger (01208 881081) coordinates and leads this group and there is a contact person in each of those three parishes: Maida Davey in St Kew (01208 841730), Frances Kent in St Endellion (01208 862704), and Penny Manders in Port Isaac (01208 880022).

The second team visits people in the parish of St Minver (including Rock, Trebetherick, Polzeath etc) and is led by the Curate, the Reverend Jonathan Mosedale (01208 862398).

It is a great help to know if someone would particularly like a visit from one of the team.  If you contact one of these people we will do our utmost to respond quickly.
